Sunsetting Census Store, CSV Datasets, and Mesh Datasets
Census is deprecating Census Store and related features (CSV Datasets, Mesh Datasets, and Iceberg catalog access) as it unifies with Fivetran's data platform. Existing accounts will have read-only access from July 2026, and the service will shut down completely on August 1, 2026.
Changelog
We are deprecating Census Store and the features it powers—CSV Datasets, Mesh Datasets, and Iceberg catalog access—as we unify Census with Fivetran's data platform. Fivetran offers mature alternatives for each of these capabilities, and we'll help you migrate.
Timeline
- January 28, 2026: New Census accounts will no longer have access to Census Store, CSV Datasets, and Mesh Datasets
- July 1, 2026: Existing datasets become read-only; no new datasets can be created
- August 1, 2026: Census Store shuts down and data on Census-managed S3 buckets will be deleted.
We will be reaching out to our customers using these features to help them migrate their workflows and data onto Fivetran’s equivalent functionality. For more information on that process, please visit our Census Store, CSV Datasets, and Mesh Datasets.
