Asana released multiple features in July 2024 including AI-powered smart projects and goals, portfolio summaries, custom field access controls, enhanced data visualization on dashboards, PDF portfolio export, and improved form and section duplication workflows.

- Smart projects: Remove the writer’s block from project creation by letting AI create projects for you.
- Smart goals: Write more effective goals based on best practices with the help of AI.
- Smart summaries on portfolios: Get an AI generated summary of what has happened in a portfolio so you can get up to speed on any notable changes.
- Custom fields access control: Control who can set up and edit the details of custom fields.
- Data labels on charts: show or hide data labels in charts in dashboards to gain greater data insights.
- Portfolio PDF export: Generate a comprehensive summary of your portfolio in a presentable PDF format.
- Duplicate form to new project: Streamline the information gathering process by duplicating a form to another project.
- Duplicate sections into another project: Duplicate an existing section and its tasks into a different project.
- Duplicate allocations on capacity plans: Duplicate an allocation in a capacity plan to create the same allocation for multiple people.
- Updated project details panel: View and edit custom fields without leaving the project details panel.
- Prefix improvements for ID custom fields: Create ID custom field prefixes with numbers and up to 20 characters.
- Click to highlight text: Click on the drag handle to highlight and format text.
